The Ocean Conservation Trust at the National Marine Aquarium is looking for a Site Services Technician to work with and support the Site Services team with the maintenance of the aquarium facility. You will be joining a passionate team of people who care about marine conservation and customer care in one of the South West’s top visitor attractions.

You will be responsible for carrying out building maintenance across the site including domestic electrical installation work, emergency light testing and repairs PAT testing, along with wide-ranging reactive and preventative maintenance.

The role also includes carrying out project work and improvements to the site.

This is a permanent position of 30 hours per week, working Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. You must be able to work every weekend. Working hours are 8am to 4pm or similar where some flexibility will be required. Trade skills and experience would be an advantage. The salary is £25,988 per annum.

The successful candidate will be a qualified to NVQ level 3 in electrical installation and have undertaken the 18th Edition certificate. You will need to be flexible, practical, ‘hands-on’; as well as being focused on detail, quality, safety, and reliability. You will have the ability to deliver in both a pro-active and reactive environment, dealing with work requests in a timely manner to ensure the site is running smoothly and delivering pro-active and ongoing maintenance to ensure the building is operating efficiently. The candidate will need to be physically fit as this is a physically demanding role.
