THIS UNQIUE EXPERIENCE LETS YOU FEED FRIDAY, OUR GREEN SEA TURTLE, FROM THE TOP OF THE UK’S DEEPEST TANK!
Step into the shoes of our Animal Husbandry team and see what it takes to feed Friday, our cheeky Green Sea Turtle! You’ll be immersed in our food preparation area, educated on our seagrass conservation work and how turtles in the wild love seagrass! You’ll then feed our Turtle at the top of the Atlantic Ocean Tank, the deepest tank in the UK! Our knowledgeable animal experiences supervisor will lead this experience and be on hand to answer any questions and make you feel truly connected to this experience and the Ocean.

What is included in this exclusive experience:
This experience is available for up to 4 people. The price is just £140 for two people (£75pp), £195 for 3 people (£65pp) and £240 for 4 people (£60pp). In the price you get:
- An introduction to our food preparation area and how we feed our 5000 animals.
- Preparation of Friday’s tasty lunch, participants 18+ are only permitted to use our knives.
- A overview of our seagrass work and the link to Turtle’s natural diet of seagrass in the wild.
- Animal introduction with our Supervisor in front of the Atlantic Ocean Tank.
- Explanation and populating of the ‘Feeding Record Sheet’ after weighing Friday’s food.
- A demonstration of the equipment we use to feed Friday and the importance of ‘operant conditioning’.
- 15 minutes feeding Friday!
- A day’s visit to the Aquarium for all participants.

We are unable to refund this experience but can move to a later date with 24 hours notice before the session takes place. Please note you can only rearrange your date once.
For the health and safety of yourself and Friday the Turtle, you are not allowed to touch Friday.
We are currently working on making this experience access friendly. There are a number of steps required to get to the top of the tank.
Our Food Preparation area will be the only area that will smell. We prepare food for all of the animals here so the room will smell of fish!
The experience will take around 45 minutes. You’ll get to feed Friday for about 15 minutes.
Friday will be of course be the star of the show, but being at the Atlantic Ocean Tank you will get to see Eagle rays, Southern Stingrays, Zebra Shark, Sand Tiger Shark and other smaller sharks!
On the most part this experience you will remain dry, although Friday may splash if he gets too excited!
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- The Experience runs from 12:30 to 13:15.
- Experience times are strictly adhered to. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late you will not be permitted to join the Experience.
- We do not offer refunds on this experience.
- Available for up to four participants only.
- Minimum age to take part in this tour is 8 years old. No babies or toddlers in pushchairs or being carried will be permitted on the tour.
- Under 16’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is 18 or over.
- Aquarium staff are not responsible for children during the tour.
- Please note, this Experience includes access to our Food Preparation area which will have a strong odour. A strong stomach is advised!
- You will entering areas that are used for the preparation of seafood, it is advised that those with seafood allergies seek medical advice before taking part in the Experience
- If animal or visitor safety is at risk, we reserve the right to stop the Experience at any point without refund.
- Due to the nature of husbandry work, there may be incidents that may arise beyond our control, leading us to cancel your experience at short notice. We suggest that you check your messages and e-mail before visiting just in case. If this were to happen, you would be offered a refund or an opportunity to re-schedule.
- Refunds are not available but the Experience can be moved to a later date with 24 hours notice. Please note, the Experience can only be re-arranged once.
- For your safety, close toe shoes must be worn.
