Places to eat at the Aquarium

Waves Café

Our Waves Café, overlooking the beautiful Barbican harbour, is open and ready to welcome you during your visit. There is a wide variety of hot food, sandwiches, teas, coffees, hot chocolates, cakes, biscuits & pastries, bottled drinks and ice cream available to purchase.

Sea’cret Garden Outdoor Snack Shack

Being located in Plymouth, Britain’s Ocean City and facing the soon to be the UK’s first National Marine Park, our garden has stunning views of the Ocean. Sit back and watch the boats coming in and out of the harbour. Spot some navy ships and maybe even a seal or two!

Let the kids run around in a safe and closed off area whilst you can take in the sea air and relax. The garden is the perfect play to let the little ones run off some steam before heading back into the Aquarium.

On a hot Summers day you can head out to our garden grab a snack, an ice-cold ice cream for the kids or even a chilled beer or wine to cool down.

Picnic Areas

If you’d rather bring your own food there’s a few different spots around the Aquarium where you’re able to eat your packed lunch. If the weather is good then head out to our Sea’Cret Garden. As mentioned above you can grab a drink or snack from our outdoor Kiosk, or sit and relax in our seating area in the garden.

If the weather isn’t very nice during your visit then speak to a member of our staff and then advise you on the perfect place to eat your own picnic.

The National Marine Aquarium (NMA) is the UK’s largest aquarium, located in Britain’s Ocean City, Plymouth. It is run by the Ocean Conservation Trust, a charity dedicated to connecting people with the Ocean.
